MY "MEN IN BLUE"

yes, iam speaking about our indian cricket team...The recent show at champions trophy is quite miserable...our batting department din't fire, our bowling dint crush, our fielding dint fly!!

The world's most expected team to perform is "TEAM INDIA", because it carries the faith of one billion people!! if u wont perform, your galla ( "purse" in english) wont be ringing!, iam telling about sponsors to indian cricket, the richest cricketing body of the world! (he he he!)

lemme create a team which is as strong to beat any juggernaut... this blog is somewat related to the sports editorial in THE HINDU,"an artificial man to beat roger fedrrer"...iam not inheriting the whole concept of it, but just a bit!

i dont want either pietersen or hussey type batting strategies,i dont want their square drive, pull shot, timing, aggressiveness!! just need to brush the positive face of indian players who are capable doing magic!

my batting department includes

virendar sehwag - basically he doesnt have technique, but he is the
fantastic player of short balls.. though he may be in out-of-form, he is the worst nightware to any bowler , when he started cashing on!

sachin tendulkar - well, what can i say abt him? he is the god of cricket as everyone knows... Technique perfect! astounding shots! i dont want him to be defensive which can be seen in recent times, just need him to attack and crunch the bowlers!

this is the perfect duo!

1st down:

rahul dravid - HE WALL, technique impeccable! awesome shots! a slow starter but a true match winner if he gets going! perfectly fills the bill for 1st down.

2nd down:

wasim jaffer - weird? i saw him playing test series in westindies... wat i noticed in him, he have perfect balance and beautifully places the ball in gaps.. technique seems to be improving in his game! nice player! good future prospect of indian team!

yuvraj singh - a clean hitter of the ball, nice forearm... a little worried while playing with spinners... fantastic fielder... flies like pigeon!

kaif - a nice player, times perfectly, not a power-hitter, but he fields amazingly, throws the ball at stumps like eagle flying to catch "the fish" at the river a mile away!

yuvraj and kaif fills the fielding department!

dhoni - a wicket-keeper batsman and a smashing player plays like a tribal (jharkand tribal) he hits the ball so hard that even the quality bowler suffers! his commitment to cricket is seen in recent champions trophy( innings against westindies and aussies!), a treasure to indian cricky!

bowling department:

irfan pathan - a nice swinger of the ball and bat good!! a promising player, but he's out of form... he need support to got going!!

ajit agarkar - he's quick, wicket taker! and bowls good! his experience can do wonders!

zaheer khan - again a swinger, a beautifull bowler to watch on! a perfect wickettaker (seen in english county!)

harbajan singh - he used to sing with ball, bowls doosra perfectly, but he needs to use this weapon constantly! he is a perfect off-spinner can maroon any team at any time!

well, this is my team!, i need raina to get back to form, to get more comfortable with pressure situation, kumble and laxman to get back from injuries, munaf, sreesanth and RP singh to get going as usual in domestic cricket until a right time to enter into the team!

The above said becomes useless, until our team gets "motivated" and get self-belief... They are professionals, they know better than me, but still they are humans, can commit mistakes!! They will, its just a lean-bad patch, time comes this team will become the "juggernaut of cricketing teams seen across history"

sorry for the long post folks!

  • Though your article is long, it makes sense. I would rather put it like this, in this Champions Trophy, we simply lacked the killer instinct. England may have lost but their win against West Indies is a real example. Kevin Pieterson showed courage even under fire.

Our batsmen and bowlers can do better than this. They are definitely poised to scale greater heights and I wish them good luck in the future.

Your article is really systematic when it comes to description of each player. Well Done and keep up the great work...!!!1
