All about orkutting!

Social networking becoming a BUZZ word in everyone lips! And the newborn orkut became its Juggernaut! Making things simpler and fantastic in its own way, thats what i like about orkut! It helps user to make new friends and maintain existing relationships,adding pep to its feature is so called "communities", where one discuss about any kindaa topic!
the world of orkut started like this....

Orkut was launched on jan 22, 2004 by GOOGLE. orkut buyukkoten, a turkish software engineer developed this project. By the end of july 2004, it surpassed the 1,000,000 member mark and now the number of orkut members reached the stunning 35.2 million!!

The strategy behind this stardom is simple! Users have options to rate their friends in the order of "Best Friends","Good Friends","Friends","Acquaintances" and "Haven't met". Further, each
member can become fans of any of the friends in his/her list and can also evaluate whether his/her friend is "Trustworthy", "Cool", "Sexy" on a scale of 1 to 3 (marked by icons) and is aggregated in terms of a percentage.


Flirting is also a part of orkutting! believe it!

The highlight feature is where any member can add any other member on Orkut to his/her "Crush List" and both of them will be initimated about it only when both parties have added each other to their "Crush List".


It continues to climb! and climb! it became an instant revolution among youth! and again "social networking a buzz word in everyone lips"!
